Our Clergy

 

Fr. David marten, rector

Fr. David is originally from Kansas, go Chiefs!, and moved to Kitsap County in May 2024. He brings 12 years of experience in family ministries in the Diocese of South Carolina and the Gulf Atlantic Diocese. He loves Kitsap County, serving the community as a Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue Chaplain and helping with Habitat for Humanity as a site volunteer and board member. He is also studying for his Doctor of Ministry in leadership and spiritual formation through Portland Seminary.

His favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 2:10, β€œFor we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

 

The Rev. Canon Dr. ken hegtvedt,
Canon to the Ordinary

Fr. Ken is a retired chaplain who serves the Diocese of Cascadia as Canon to the Ordinary, meaning he helps Bishop Jacob. While he is often on the road for the diocese, he resides at St. Charles and serves regularly alongside us.

 

Deacon Cece Morris

Dcn. Cece has a true heart for Christian community and intercessory prayer. She leads our pastoral care ministry at St. Charles. She has also served as a hospice chaplain and helped lead Kairos retreats for women inmates.

 

Deacon Steve Terry

Dcn. Steve is a gifted teacher and preacher with a love of the early Church and the Christian tradition. He works with our missions team at St. Charles to live out the great commandment to love our neighbor as our self and to bring love and light to those in our community.
