Dear Friends and Neighbors,
In the midst of a world that often feels hurried and heavy, the season of Christmas arrives as a profound "hush"—a holy pause to remember what this holiday is about. At St. Charles, we invite you to step out of the frantic pace of the season and into the timeless beauty of the Incarnation.
For centuries, the Church has gathered in the glow of candlelight to hear the ancient story of a God who loved the world so much that He took on our flesh, our joys, and our sorrows. Whether you are a regular communicant, simply looking for a peaceful moment, or someone for whom the church has long been a distant memory, there is a place for you in these pews.
While the world often concludes its celebrations on December 26th, for us, Christmas Day is only the beginning. We invite you to join us in keeping the Twelve Days of Christmas—a joyful season of sustained celebration that carries us through the darkest days of winter.
This journey concludes on January 6th with the Feast of the Epiphany, where we commemorate the arrival of the Magi and the revelation of Christ’s light to all nations. By keeping the full cycle of the season, we allow the hope of the manger to take root in our hearts.
Come celebrate with us, sing carols, read the Bible story, and find rest for your soul. We look forward to welcoming you in our church home this Christmas.
In the Peace of Christ,
Fr. David Marten
